Five Points is located in the western part of Hoke County. The name "Five Points" comes from a special intersection where three roads meet: Calloway Road, Montrose Road, and N. Horace Walters Road. This spot is about 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Raeford, which is the main town and county seat of Hoke County.

Several small streams flow through Five Points, including Mountain Creek, Little Creek, and Buffalo Creek. These creeks all flow southwest and eventually join Drowning Creek, which is also known as the Lumber River.
