In 1968, Florasina led a group of about 50 Native American and Black people. They traveled by bus to Washington, D.C., the nation's capital. They went to share their concerns about their living conditions. This group became known as the Poor People's Campaign. They wanted leaders to understand the challenges they faced.

In the 1970s, Florasina continued her work for fairness. She served on the King County Equal Opportunity Board. This board worked to make sure everyone had fair chances. She also helped with the Model Cities Program. This program aimed to improve neighborhoods in cities.

Her Lasting Legacy

Florasina Ware's work made a big difference in Seattle. In 1982, a park in Seattle was named after her. This was done to honor her important contributions. Also, artworks at the University Street station in Seattle remember her work and dedication.
