Discovering the Floral City Museum
The museum is located right in the heart of downtown Floral City. It's in a building that used to be a Fire Station! Imagine a fire station turning into a museum – that's pretty cool. The fire station closed its doors in January 2000.
From Fire Station to Museum
After the fire station moved out, the building was transformed. The museum officially opened on December 4, 2009. It was first known as the Heritage Museum & Country Store.
What You Can See Inside
The museum has two main areas where you can see exhibits, called galleries. It also has a library where you can read and learn more. There's a media center too, which might have videos or interactive displays. You can also find a store inside.
In 2014, the museum was working on adding more spaces. These included offices, storage areas, and a kitchen. The museum's website at that time said it was open on Fridays and Saturdays. It welcomed visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It also opened for special events.
Where to Find It
The museum is easy to find! It's right next to the Community Building and Library. You can find it on Orange Avenue. This is just one block east of U.S. Highway 41. The Floral City Heritage Council is the group that runs the museum. They work hard to keep the history of Floral City alive!
