Becoming a Pool Star
Florian grew up in eastern France. He didn't start playing pool until he was 18 years old. His parents gave him a 6-foot pool table for his birthday.
He loved watching videos of other amazing trick shot players online. He tried to copy their moves. Some of his biggest inspirations were Mike Massey and Semih Sayginer.
Inventing New Tricks
Soon, Florian started making up his own unique trick shots. He created many new ideas for playing pool. These included making balls jump high and using several cue sticks at once for massé shots.
He also learned to do jump and massé shots on balls that were moving. He even set a record for the highest jump shot on a moving ball. The ball jumped 34 inches (86 centimeters) high!
Florian also helped create a special pool cue called the Mezz massé cue. This cue is designed to help players do amazing trick shots.
Working with the APA
On April 28, 2014, the APA announced they would sponsor Florian Kohler. He became an official spokesperson for the APA. This happened at their yearly meeting in Las Vegas.
In 2019, Florian and his wife became leaders for the APA in Las Vegas. They help run the pool leagues there.
