What is Fly-by-Night About?
The book tells the story of an 11-year-old girl named Ruth Hollis. She buys a pony called Fly for a very low price. This is because Fly hasn't had any training. Ruth decides to give him a longer name: Fly-by-Night. She tries to train him herself, but it's much harder than she thought!

With Peter's help, Ruth and Fly-by-Night enter a horse riding competition called hunter trials. They do very well and finish in sixth place!
