Folk is a small place in the state of Missouri, in the United States. It's not a city or a town with its own local government. Instead, it's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and buildings that are part of a larger county, in this case, Osage County.

This community is found in the northwestern part of Osage County. It is about ten miles southeast of a bigger city called Jefferson City.

How Folk Got Its Name
A special office called a post office was opened in Folk in the year 1905. A post office is where people send and receive mail. This post office served the community until 1964. The community of Folk was named after a person named Joseph W. Folk. He was a famous politician who used to be the governor of Missouri.
