Arvid Folke Alnevik (born December 31, 1919 – died August 17, 2020) was a Swedish athlete. He was a fast runner, known as a sprinter. Folke Alnevik was born in Arbrå, Sweden.

He was best known for his amazing results in the 4×400 metre relay race. He won bronze medals in two big competitions.

Olympic and European Medals

Folke Alnevik earned a bronze medal at the 1946 European Athletics Championships in Oslo. This was for the 4×400 metre relay event.

Two years later, he won another bronze medal. This time it was at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London. He competed in the same event, the 4×400 metre relay.

A Long and Active Life

Besides being a great athlete, Folke Alnevik also had a career in the military. He was an officer in the Swedish Army. He retired with the rank of major.

Folke Alnevik lived a very long life. He was 100 years old when he passed away on August 17, 2020, in Gävle, Sweden.

For a time, he was known as the oldest living Olympic medalist. He held this special title from the 2018 Winter Olympics until his death.
