About the Folsom House
This house was once the home of W.H.C. Folsom. He was a very successful businessman in the lumber industry. This means he made a lot of money from cutting down trees and selling wood. Folsom and his family moved to the Taylors Falls area in 1850.
Folsom's Public Service
W.H.C. Folsom was also involved in politics. He served as a state representative for one term. A state representative is someone elected to speak for their area in the state government. He also served as a state senator for six terms. A state senator is another elected official who helps make laws for the state.

Today, the Folsom House is a museum. It is managed by the Taylors Falls Historical Society and the Minnesota Historical Society. The house is located in the Angel's Hill District of Taylors Falls. This area looks like a charming old village from New England. Inside the house, you can see many of the Folsom family's original items. These include a special piano and Folsom's own library of books.
