Fornells de la Selva is a small town in Catalonia, Spain. It is part of the Gironès region, which is called a comarca. This town is very close to the larger city of Girona. It is often considered part of Girona's wider urban area.
Fornells de la Selva covers about 11.9 square kilometers. In 2018, around 2,649 people lived there. The town is surrounded by other smaller towns. To the north, it borders Girona. To the south, you'll find Riudellots de la Selva and Campllong. On the east side are Quart and Llambilles, and to the west are Vilablareix and Aiguaviva.
Getting Around Fornells de la Selva
Fornells de la Selva is easy to reach. It is located just 7 kilometers south of Girona. You can get there by car using the N-IIa road.
Train Travel
The town has its own railway station. This station is part of the Renfe Regional line. You can catch trains here that go to Barcelona and Portbou. Even though the station is there, you cannot buy tickets directly at the station anymore.
Close to the Airport
If you like to travel by plane, Fornells de la Selva is very convenient. It is only 5 kilometers away from the Girona-Costa Brava Airport. This makes it easy for people to visit or for locals to fly out.
