The Fort Worth Water Gardens is a special park in downtown Fort Worth, Texas. It was built in 1974 and is located near the Fort Worth Convention Center. This amazing 4.3-acre (1.7 hectare) park was designed by famous architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee from New York City. The Amon G. Carter Foundation gave this beautiful park to the City of Fort Worth.

This urban park is often called a "cooling oasis in the concrete jungle." It's a peaceful place in the middle of the busy city. The park has three main pools of water and a raised area that helps block out city noise.

Exploring the Fort Worth Water Gardens

The Fort Worth Water Gardens offers different water experiences for everyone. Each pool has its own unique design and feel.

The Quiet Meditation Pool

The meditation pool is a calm and peaceful spot. It is surrounded by tall cypress trees. Water gently flows down high walls, making a soft, quiet sound like a gentle rain shower. This pool is a great place to relax and think.

The Lively Aerating Pool

The aerating pool is full of energy. It has many fountains that spray water high into the air. At night, these fountains are lit up, making them look even more magical. Large oak trees provide shade over this lively area.

The Amazing Active Pool

The active pool is the most exciting part of the Water Gardens. Water rushes down 38 feet (11 meters) over many steps and terraces. It creates a powerful waterfall effect. Visitors can walk down these steps right into the middle of the action. You can feel the power and hear the sounds of the water all around you. It's an amazing experience to be so close to the crashing water.
