The Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas is a famous golf resort located in Irving, Texas, in the United States. It's a big place with a 431-room hotel. You can also find two restaurants, cool lounge bars, a spa for relaxing, a swimming pool, a gym, and tennis courts here.
But what it's really known for are its two amazing golf courses! One of them is called TPC Las Colinas. This course used to host a very important golf tournament called the PGA Tour's annual AT&T Byron Nelson. In 2022, new owners took over the resort. They are planning big renovations to make it even better by 2024.
About the Resort
The Four Seasons Club first opened its doors in 1983. The hotel connected to it opened a few years later, in 1986.
In 2022, the property was sold to new owners. It was then renamed The Las Colinas Resort, Dallas for a short time. During this period, a huge $55 million renovation project began. Once the renovations are finished in 2024, the resort will get a new name again: The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas.
Golf Courses and Tournaments
The Four Seasons Resort is super popular for its golf facilities. It has the TPC Las Colinas championship course. This course was designed by Jay Morrish, with help from famous golfers Byron Nelson and Ben Crenshaw.
The TPC Las Colinas course was built as a "stadium course." This means it's designed so that spectators can easily watch the golf action. It opened in 1983. From 1983 to 2017, it was the home of the PGA Tour's Byron Nelson golf event.
Since 1994, the resort's second course, Cottonwood Valley, has also been used. It helps with the first two rounds of the Byron Nelson Championship. This helps if there are weather delays. Jay Morrish also designed this course, working with another well-known golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones, Jr..
The resort also has the Byron Nelson Golf School. This is a great place to learn or improve your golf skills. There's also a driving range and other practice areas.
Awards and Recognition
This resort is very special because it's the only one in Texas to receive the AAA Five Diamond Award. This award means it offers a very high level of luxury and service.
