Where is Fox Lake?
Fox Lake is found in the northern part of Highlands County, Florida. It's just a short distance east of two other lakes, Deer Lake and Luck Lake. You can find it near the town of Avon Park, Florida.
What Does Fox Lake Look Like?
This lake has an interesting, somewhat oblong or oval shape. It covers about 22.5 acres, which is roughly the size of 17 football fields! The land around Fox Lake is mostly private property. On its western side, you'll see houses and Fox Lake Road. The northern, eastern, and southern sides are surrounded by citrus groves, where delicious oranges and other citrus fruits are grown.
How Can People Visit Fox Lake?
Even though most of the land around Fox Lake is private, there are two special areas called "public easements." Think of an easement as a narrow path or strip of land that allows people to legally reach the lake. These easements make it possible for the public to access the water, even though the surrounding land is privately owned.
