Fraggle Rock: The Animated Series is an American children's television series that brought the beloved characters of Fraggle Rock to life through animation. It was created by the famous Jim Henson. This cartoon version aired on NBC on Saturday mornings in 1987. Later, it was shown again on Disney Channel from 1990 to 1995.
About the Show
This animated series kept the same fun spirit as the original live-action Fraggle Rock show. It even used the same catchy theme song, but with the cartoon voices! Many episodes told two short stories, each about 15 minutes long. Some episodes had one longer story. Just like the puppet show, the animated series included new songs in almost every episode.
When it first aired, the show often started and ended with scenes of Uncle Traveling Matt from the original puppet show. He would introduce the cartoon from Doc's workshop. The animated Fraggle Rock had a total of 13 episodes. One big difference was that the human character, Doc, was only shown from the neck down. This was similar to Nanny in Muppet Babies.
Meet the Characters
The show features many of the same characters you know and love from the original Fraggle Rock. These include the fun-loving Fraggles, the tiny Doozers, and the giant Gorgs.
Episode Guide
This animated series had 13 exciting episodes. Each one brought new adventures and songs to Fraggle Rock.
