Francisco Javier Aguilar García (born March 26, 1949 – died May 11, 2020) was a Spanish professional footballer. He played as a forward, which means he was a player who focused on scoring goals. Aguilar was well-known for his time playing with Real Madrid.

Francisco Aguilar's Football Journey
Aguilar was born in Santander. He began his football career with his local team, Racing de Santander. He joined their senior team when he was 19 years old. He helped them get promoted to the Segunda División, which is the second-highest football league in Spain, in 1970.
Playing for Real Madrid
In 1971, Aguilar joined La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid. He moved there with his teammate Santillana. In his first season (1971–72), he played 31 matches and scored six goals. His team won the national championship that year. He also scored three goals in four games in the UEFA Cup.
Aguilar played regularly for Real Madrid for most of his time there. He helped the team win five league titles and two Copa del Rey trophies. This included winning both the league and the Copa del Rey in the 1974–75 season. Overall, he played in 190 official games for Real Madrid.
Later Club Teams
In the summer of 1979, Aguilar moved to Sporting de Gijón. He played regularly for them but only scored six goals during his time there.
Aguilar stopped playing professional football in June 1983. He was 34 years old at the time. His last two years were spent with Rayo Vallecano, another club in Madrid. He scored 12 goals in 36 games during his first year with them. Over his ten seasons in Spain's top league, he played 190 matches and scored 40 goals.
Representing Spain
Aguilar also played for the Spanish national team. He played three matches for Spain over a year and a half. His first game was on November 24, 1971. It was a qualifying match for the UEFA Euro 1972 tournament against Cyprus in Granada. He came on as a substitute at half-time and scored the fifth goal in a big 7–0 win for Spain.
His Later Years
Francisco Aguilar passed away on May 11, 2020, in Madrid. He was 71 years old.
