History of Francisville
Francisville was started in 1819. A group of 77 people from a church nearby wanted a new church closer to their homes. They built the Sand Run Baptist Church for $2100. Soon, other important places grew up around the church. These included a post office, a general store, a school, a hotel, and a tobacco warehouse.

Geography and Growth
Francisville is located in the northern part of Boone County. It sits on the southwest side of the Cincinnati Metropolitan Area. A large highway, Interstate 275, forms the southern edge of the community. Hebron is just south of this highway.
Francisville stretches north all the way to Kentucky Route 8 (River Road). This road is in the Ohio River valley. Kentucky Route 237 (North Bend Road) is the main road through Francisville. It goes from KY 8 south to I-275 and into Hebron. The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is about 4 miles (6.4 km) southeast of Francisville.
The U.S. Census Bureau says Francisville covers about 8.5 square miles (22.0 km²). All of this area is land.
Community Development
Francisville and Hebron have been growing a lot. Many new homes, shops, and businesses are being built. In Francisville, this growth is mostly along Kentucky Route 237. This area is sometimes called the North Bend. This is because it's located in a bend of the Ohio River. This bend is the northernmost point in Kentucky.
Many new neighborhoods have been built or are planned along Kentucky Route 237. These include Cardinal Cove, Parlor Grove, and Thornwilde.
Road Improvements
In 2007, Kentucky Route 237 got a big upgrade. The road was widened to five lanes in some parts. It also got two roundabouts. Roundabouts are circular intersections that help traffic flow smoothly. One roundabout is at Cardinal Way, and another is at Graves Road and Old North Bend Road. The project also added bike lanes and a wide walking path. A bus stop for the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) was also added.

Francisville is served by the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (airport code: CVG). This airport is a major hub for Amazon Prime Air and DHL Aviation. It's also an important airport for Allegiant Air and Frontier Airlines.

Francisville has access to a major interstate highway. Interstate 275 is a beltway that goes around Cincinnati. It helps people travel through Northern Kentucky.
