Franco Causio was born on February 1, 1949. He is a famous Italian former professional footballer. He is best known for winning the 1982 FIFA World Cup with Italy.

Causio started his career at his hometown club, Lecce. He then became a star player for Juventus for many years. People thought he was one of Italy's best ever wingers. He was nicknamed "The Baron" because of his elegant style on the field. He was also known for his good manners and fair play.

After playing for other teams like Reggina and Palermo for a few years, he returned to Juventus in 1970. He played for Juventus for 11 years, wearing the number 7 jersey. He played alongside many great players. These included Roberto Bettega, Dino Zoff, and Gaetano Scirea.

During his time at Juventus, he won many trophies. He helped the team win the Italian league title six times. He also won the Coppa Italia, which is Italy's main cup competition. In 1977, he won the UEFA Cup, a big European club competition. He also reached the final of the European Cup in 1973. This is the most important club competition in Europe.
