Frank Beddor's Journey

Frank Beddor grew up in Excelsior, Minnesota. He had an exciting early career!
In 1985, Beddor was a stunt double for actor John Cusack in the skiing movie Better Off Dead. This means he performed the tricky ski scenes for the actor.
Later, Beddor became a film producer. He helped make the popular 1998 movie There's Something About Mary. This film starred famous actors like Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller.
After his work in movies, Frank Beddor started writing books.
The Looking Glass Wars Series
Frank Beddor is most famous for his book series, The Looking Glass Wars. This series puts a new spin on the classic story of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
In Beddor's books, the main character Alice is real, and so is the magical world of Wonderland. However, the story suggests that Lewis Carroll didn't tell the full truth. Instead, he made Wonderland seem like a simple children's tale, rather than showing its true, more complex reality.
The Looking Glass Wars was very popular. It even made it onto The New York Times weekly children's list in 2006.
Beddor has written two more books in The Looking Glass Wars series: Seeing Redd and ArchEnemy. There is also a spin-off comic book series called Hatter Madigan. This comic was written by Beddor and Liz Cavalier, with art by Ben Templesmith. It focuses on Hatter Madigan, a cool character from The Looking Glass Wars books.
