Frank Ntilikina is a professional basketball player from France. He plays as a point guard, which is like the team's main playmaker. He is currently playing for Partizan Mozzart Bet in Europe. Frank was born in Belgium but grew up in France. He is 6 feet 4 inches tall. In 2017, he was chosen by the New York Knicks as the eighth player picked in the 2017 NBA draft.

Early Life and Youth Basketball

Frank Ntilikina was born on July 28, 1998, in Belgium. His parents are from Rwanda. When he was three years old, his family moved to Strasbourg, France.

He started playing basketball at age five for a local club. At 15, he joined the youth academy of Strasbourg IG, a bigger team. In 2014, Frank was invited to a special game called the Jordan Brand Classic International Game. He helped his youth team win a French Youth League Championship in the 2014–15 season.

In 2016, he also attended the "Basketball Without Borders Global Camp" in Canada. This camp brings together young basketball talents from around the world.

Professional Career Journey

Starting with SIG Strasbourg (2015–2017)

In December 2015, Frank signed his first professional contract with SIG Strasbourg. He had already played his first professional game in April 2015.

In October 2015, he played his first game in the EuroLeague, which is a top European basketball league. During the 2015–16 season, he played in 32 games. He was named the league's Best Young Player. He won this award again in the 2016–17 season. He became a very important player for Strasbourg.

Joining the NBA: New York Knicks (2017–2021)

In April 2017, Frank decided to enter the 2017 NBA draft. This is where NBA teams pick new players. He was one of the top young international players.

On June 22, 2017, the New York Knicks picked Frank as the eighth player overall. He was one of the youngest players in the NBA during his first year. He made his NBA debut in October 2017. In January 2018, he had a great game with 10 points and 10 assists. He was also chosen to play in the Rising Stars Challenge during the 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend.

His second season was cut short because of injuries. In his third season, he showed strong defense. He had six steals in a game in November 2019. However, he struggled with his shooting.

Dallas Mavericks (2021–2023)

In September 2021, Frank signed with the Dallas Mavericks. He played his first game for them in October 2021. He played for the Mavericks for two seasons.

Charlotte Hornets (2023–2024)

Frank signed with the Charlotte Hornets in August 2023. He played a few games for them before being waived in February 2024.

Partizan (2024–Present)

On June 20, 2024, Frank Ntilikina signed with Partizan Mozzart Bet. This team plays in the Basketball League of Serbia (KLS), the ABA League, and the EuroLeague. In his first season with Partizan, he averaged 7 points per game in the EuroLeague. Partizan won the ABA League championship and the Serbian League championship in the 2024–25 season.

Playing for His Country: National Team Career

Frank has also played for the French national basketball team.

  • In 2014, he helped France's Under-16 team win the 2014 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship. He averaged 7.4 points per game.
  • In 2016, he led France's Under-18 team to win the 2016 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship. He scored 31 points in the championship game! He was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.
  • In 2019, Frank helped the senior French team win a bronze medal at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
  • He also won silver medals with the French team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
