Frank R. Strozier Jr., born on June 13, 1937, is an American jazz musician. He is famous for playing the alto saxophone. He also sometimes plays the flute.

Frank Strozier was born in Memphis, Tennessee. This is where he first learned to play the piano. In 1954, he moved to Chicago. There, he played music with other talented musicians. These included Harold Mabern, George Coleman, and Booker Little. They were all from Memphis, just like Frank.

From 1959 to 1960, Frank recorded music with a group called MJT + 3. He also led his own recording sessions for a record company named Vee-Jay Records.

Later, Frank moved to New York City. For a short time in 1963, he played with the famous Miles Davis Quintet. He also performed with drummer Roy Haynes. After New York, Frank moved to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, he worked with musicians like Chet Baker and Shelly Manne. He also played in the Don Ellis big band.

In 1971, Frank Strozier returned to New York. He continued to play with many different groups and artists. These included Keno Duke's Jazz Contemporaries and the New York Jazz Repertory Company. He also played with Horace Parlan and Woody Shaw.
