Jesús Francisco "Frankie" Gómez (born February 4, 1992) is an American former professional boxer. He was known for his exciting fighting style. In 2010, Frankie Gómez joined Oscar De La Hoya's boxing company, Golden Boy Promotions. He was trained by the famous Freddie Roach, who won "Trainer of the Year" five times.

Frankie's Early Boxing Days
Frankie Gómez started boxing when he was just 8 years old. He had an amazing amateur record, winning 120 fights and only losing 8!
Winning Championships
- In 2007, he won the Junior Olympic National Championship.
- He also won a gold medal at the Cadet World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.
- In 2008, Gómez won the U-17 Cadet World Championships in the Light Welterweight division.
- At 17, in 2009, he became the U.S.A. Amateur National Champion. He beat another great boxer, José Benavidez.
- Later in 2009, he won a silver medal at the 2009 World Amateur Boxing Championships. He lost to Olympic medalist Roniel Iglesias in the final.
Turning Professional
Many people thought Frankie Gómez was the best amateur boxer in America when he decided to become a professional. Oscar De La Hoya, a boxing legend, was very impressed with him. De La Hoya said that Frankie had everything it takes to become a world champion.
First Professional Fights
Frankie won his very first professional fight against Clayvonne Howard. He won by TKO (Technical Knockout) in the third round. His third TKO win was against Akeem Akinbode. This fight was shown on TV.
Training with New Coaches
Later, Frankie started training with Abel Sanchez. In his first fight with Sanchez, Gómez won by knockout in the first round against Jason Davis. In July 2011, he won another fight against Khadaphi Proctor, which was also shown on TV.
Working with Freddie Roach
In 2012, Gómez began training with the well-known boxing coach, Freddie Roach. After winning several more fights, Frankie faced his toughest opponent yet, Mauricio Herrera. This big fight happened in May 2016. Frankie Gómez showed how skilled he was, winning every single round on all three judges' scorecards!
Why Frankie Stopped Fighting
After his big win against Mauricio Herrera in 2016, Frankie Gómez became inactive. His trainer, Freddie Roach, mentioned that he hadn't seen Frankie in the gym for a long time. Frankie Gómez has not had any professional fights since 2016. He is now listed as "inactive" in the boxing world.
