Frans was born in Ystad, Sweden. His father was born in Nigeria and later moved to London. Frans's mother is Swedish. Because of this, Frans grew up speaking both English and Swedish. He also spent time in London and studied music there when he was 15.

Frans became well-known at a young age for his football songs. He sang with a band called Elias. In 2006, their song "Who's da Man" was a huge hit. It was a tribute to the famous Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović. This song, featuring Frans's voice, was number one on the Swedish music charts for 13 weeks!

For Christmas in 2006, Frans had another small hit. His song "Kul med Jul" (which means "Fun with Christmas") reached number 24 on the Swedish charts. In 2008, he had another popular sports song called "Fotbollsfest". This song supported the Sweden men's national football team. It quickly went to number one on the Swedish charts.

Melodifestivalen and Eurovision: 2016–Present

After some years away from music, Frans returned in 2016. He took part in Melodifestivalen 2016, which is a big music competition in Sweden. The winner gets to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. Frans performed his song "If I Were Sorry", which he helped write.

He made it to the final of Melodifestivalen. Right after his performance, "If I Were Sorry" was released as a single. It became very popular and went straight to number one on the Swedish charts. The song also became popular in many other countries around the world.

On March 12, 2016, Frans won the Melodifestivalen final. This meant he would represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. At 17 years old, Frans was one of the youngest winners ever of Melodifestivalen. In the Eurovision final, "If I Were Sorry" finished in fifth place.

Frans also announced the Swedish jury votes for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 final on May 11, 2024.
