Federico Palana (born November 3, 1989), known by his stage name Fred De Palma, is a popular Italian rapper and singer. He is famous for his pop rap and reggaeton music, including many hit summer songs.

Musical Journey

Getting Started with Royal Rhymes

Fred De Palma's music story began in 2007 in Italy. He became known for his talent in freestyling, which is when a rapper makes up lyrics on the spot. He was so good that he won many freestyle contests in cities like Turin and Milan.

In 2010, he teamed up with another artist, Dirty C, to form a group called Royal Rhymes. They signed with a small record company called an independent record label and started making music together.

While in the group, Fred kept competing. He won a contest called Zelig Urban Talent in 2011. In 2012, he came in third place on the MTV show Spit, a popular rap battle competition.

With his group Royal Rhymes, he released an album in 2011 and a shorter album, called an EP, in 2012.

Becoming a Solo Star

In 2012, Fred De Palma decided to start his career as a solo artist. He released his very first album, FDP, that same year. He also worked with other famous Italian rappers like Moreno and Marracash on a song.

For a short time, he was part of a music group called Roccia Music, founded by Marracash. He even appeared on their group album, Genesi, in 2013. A year later, in 2014, he released his second solo album, Lettera al successo.

Major Hits and Collaborations

A big change happened in 2015 when Fred De Palma signed with Warner Music Italy, a major record label. This helped his music reach even more people. He released his third album, BoyFred, later that year.

His fourth album, Hanglover, came out in 2017. It had hit songs like "Il cielo guarda te" and "Adiós".

Fred De Palma became known for his amazing summer hits, often with Spanish singer Ana Mena. Their first song together, "D'estate non vale" (2018), was a huge success. They worked together again in 2019 on "Una volta ancora," which became one of the biggest songs of the year in Italy.

In 2024, he competed in the famous Sanremo Music Festival 2024 with his song "Il cielo non ci vuole".
