Freddie Stone (born Frederick Jerome Stewart on June 5, 1947) is an American musician and pastor. He is best known for being a member of the famous band Sly and the Family Stone.
Music Career Highlights

Freddie started playing music when he was just twelve years old. In 1966, Freddie helped start the band Sly and the Family Stone. His brother Sly led the band, and his sister Rose was also a member. Freddie played the guitar and sang vocals for the group.
After leaving the band in the late 1970s, Stone signed a short recording contract with Motown Records. In 1993, Freddie Stone was honored. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Sly and the Family Stone.

Early Life and Family
Freddie Stone grew up in Vallejo, California. His parents were Christians and attended the Pentecostal church. Music was important in their family. His father played the violin, harp, and guitar. His mother also played the guitar and piano.
Freddie spent his early years at church. His neighborhood was very diverse. His mother often looked after children of all backgrounds. This helped him grow up without experiencing racial prejudice.
School Days
Freddie had to change schools during his high school years. He was expelled from Vallejo High School after some fighting. He then attended Benicia High School. He did very well there. In his junior year, he was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) on his basketball team. In his senior year, he was even the President of the student body. Soon after he graduated, Freddie and his family moved to San Francisco.
Becoming a Pastor
Since 1994, Freddie Stone has been known as Pastor Frederick Stewart. He is a preacher in his hometown of Vallejo, California. He became a committed Christian in 1980. In 1988, he was officially made a pastor.
Over time, he prepared to take over his uncle's church. This church is called the Evangelist Temple Fellowship Center. Today, Freddie Stone is the Pastor of this church. It is located on Sonoma Boulevard in Vallejo, California.
