Frederick Avery Johnson (born January 2, 1833 – died July 17, 1893) was an American politician and banker. He was a member of the Republican Party. He lived in Glens Falls, New York.

He became a respected leader in his community. He even served as the president of the village of Glens Falls. This meant he helped manage the town.

Serving in Congress

Johnson was elected to the United States Congress. He was a member of the Republican Party. He first represented New York's eighteenth district.

He served in the 48th U.S. Congress. This term lasted from March 4, 1883, to March 3, 1885. After that, he was elected again.

He then represented New York's twenty-first district. He served in the 49th U.S. Congress. This second term was from March 4, 1885, to March 3, 1887. He decided not to run for re-election in 1886.

Later Life and Passing

Frederick A. Johnson passed away in Glens Falls, New York. He died on July 17, 1893. He was 60 years old.
