Frederick Rossmore Wauchope Eveleigh-de-Moleyns, 5th Baron Ventry (born December 11, 1861 – died September 23, 1923), was an important officer in the British Army. He also held a special title as an Anglo-Irish peer, which meant he was a member of the nobility. He was known as the 5th Baron Ventry.

Who Was Frederick Eveleigh-de-Moleyns?
Frederick Eveleigh-de-Moleyns was born into a noble family. His father was the 4th Baron Ventry. In 1874, his father changed the family's last name, and Frederick also took on the additional name "Eveleigh."
Early Life and Education
Frederick went to two well-known schools. First, he attended Harrow School, which is a famous boarding school. After that, he studied at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. This college is where many British Army officers get their training.
His Military Career
After his training, Frederick joined the 4th Queen's Own Hussars, a cavalry regiment in the British Army. He became an officer, which means he was given a leadership role.
He took part in the Second Matabele War from 1896 to 1897. This was a conflict in Southern Africa. During this war, he was recognized for his bravery and good service. He was Mentioned in Dispatches twice, which means his actions were officially noted as brave and important by his commanders.
In 1897, he received a special award called the Distinguished Service Order. This award is given to officers for their excellent service in battle. He was promoted to the rank of Major in 1898. Later, he retired from the army as a Lieutenant-Colonel, which is a very senior rank.
Later Life and Legacy
On February 8, 1914, Frederick became the 5th Baron Ventry after his father passed away. This meant he inherited his father's noble title.
Lord Ventry also served as a Deputy Lieutenant for County Kerry in Ireland. A Deputy Lieutenant is a person who helps the Lord-Lieutenant, who is the King's or Queen's representative in a county.
Frederick Eveleigh-de-Moleyns never married. When he died on September 23, 1923, his nephew inherited his title and became the next Baron Ventry.
