Where is Freginals?
Freginals sits on a hill. This hill is found between two mountain ranges: the northern part of the Serra de Godall and the Serra del Montsià. It's also near where important roads meet, connecting towns like Tortosa, Ulldecona, and Amposta.
Ancient Paths and Herders
The land around Freginals has very old paths. These paths were used by transhumant cattle herders. Transhumant means they moved their animals, like cows or sheep, from one place to another depending on the season. These special paths are called lligallos by the local people. They show how people used to live and travel with their livestock long ago.
Transportation in Freginals
For many years, Freginals had its own railway station. This station was part of the RENFE railway line, which connected Valencia to Tortosa. However, the station closed down in 1990. Today, people in Freginals use other ways to travel.
Joining Forces: Taula del Sénia
Freginals is part of a special group called the Taula del Sénia. This is a free association of different municipalities (towns and cities). They work together on projects that benefit all the communities in the area. It helps them share resources and solve common problems.
