History of Friedheim

Friedheim started as a small village. In the 1840s, German families came to this area. They were leaving problems in their home country, Germany. These settlers were Lutheran Christians. They built a log church in 1849. Later, in 1857, a new stone church was built in its place. This church is now called Trinity Lutheran Church. It is part of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. In 1887, a post office opened in Friedheim. The German settlers named the community "Friedheim" after their old home in Germany.
