Frinkcoin is the 13th episode of the 31st season of The Simpsons. It first aired on television in the United States on the Fox network on February 23, 2020. In this episode, Professor Frink creates a new type of digital money called cryptocurrency. About 1.84 million people watched the episode when it was first shown.

Professor Frink's Big Idea
The Simpson family is eating at a vegan restaurant. Lisa needs to choose someone for a school project. She picks Professor Frink. Lisa chooses him because he uses science to help the world.
Lisa goes to Springfield University to talk with Professor Frink. During their chat, Frink tells her about his new invention. He is creating a new cryptocurrency called Frinkcoin.
Frinkcoin Becomes Popular
Frinkcoin quickly becomes very well known. This makes Professor Frink the richest person in Springfield. Mr. Burns is not happy about this. He used to be the richest person in town.
Professor Frink starts to feel lonely even with all his money. Marge suggests he go to Moe's Tavern to meet new people. At Moe's, Frink answers every question correctly during the trivia game. Because of his smarts, the people at the tavern become his friends. Frink then shows his new friends all the best spots in Springfield.
Mr. Burns's Plan
Meanwhile, Smithers gathers a team for Mr. Burns. Their job is to create a new cryptocurrency for Mr. Burns. The team also comes up with a special math problem. If solved, this problem would make Frinkcoin worth nothing. However, it would take thousands of years to figure out the answer.
Instead of waiting, Mr. Burns tells Frink that his new friends only like him because he is rich. Burns then brings the difficult math problem to Springfield. He asks everyone in town to help solve it, hoping to make Frinkcoin worthless.
The Truth and Friendship
Professor Frink soon realizes that Mr. Burns was right. His friends only liked him because he had a lot of money. Frink decides to solve the complicated math problem himself. Only Lisa knows that he has found the answer.
Frink solves the equation, and as a result, he loses all his money. But even though he is no longer rich, Frink is happy. He is glad to be true friends with Lisa. He is also happy to go back to his work at the university.
