Zamora is one of the provinces in Spain, and Castile and León is one of Spain's 17 "autonomous communities," which are like big regions with their own governments.

Local Traditions and Culture
Fuentelapeña has a unique yearly tradition involving its cattle. This event is called "fire-branding." It's a way for ranchers to mark their new cattle. During this tradition, a special hot iron is used to place a unique mark on the cattle. This mark includes the ranch's own symbol, the number "6," and another number that shows how many cows that ranch owns in that year. This helps everyone know which animals belong to which farm.
