Funk Heritage Center facts for kids
The Funk Heritage Center is a special place in Waleska, Georgia. It's known as Georgia's official center for learning about the frontier days and the Native American tribes who lived in the southeastern United States. You can find it on the campus of Reinhardt University.
What You Can See at the Center
The Funk Heritage Center has a cool gallery filled with Native American art and artifacts. These are items made by Native American people. There's also a theater where you can watch a short film. This film teaches you about the history of Native Americans in the southeastern part of the United States. If you want a souvenir, there's a small shop too!
Official Recognition
In 2003, a law was passed that officially named the Funk Heritage Center as Georgia's main place for understanding its frontier past and the history of Southeastern Native American groups.
