Miss Florida USA Challenges
Génesis Dávila competed in the Miss Florida USA 2017 pageant. She represented Miami Beach. On July 16, 2016, she won the competition. She was crowned Miss Florida USA 2017.
However, Génesis was disqualified on July 22, 2016. This happened because it was found that she had hired outside professionals for her hair and makeup during the pageant. This was against the rules of the competition. The pageant organizers said they received many complaints from other contestants and witnesses. They felt this gave Génesis an unfair advantage.
Génesis later took legal action against the pageant owners. She wanted her crown back and money for damages. This legal case was later closed in October, and the details were kept private.
The next year, Génesis returned to Miss Florida USA. She represented Miami and won the competition again. She then represented Florida at Miss USA 2018 and made it into the Top 5 finalists.
