Gómez is a small town in the Buenos Aires Province of Argentina. It is part of the Brandsen Partido, which is like a local district. The town is located along National Route 215, about 38 kilometers from its start.
How Many People Live Here?
Every few years, countries count how many people live in different places. This is called a census. The last census in 2001 showed that 335 people lived in Gómez. This was a big jump from the 1991 census, which counted 211 people. This means the town grew by almost 60% in ten years!
What's in a Name?
Sometimes, places have names that can be a bit confusing. Gómez is one of those places. Many people, even on signs and in phone books, call it "Estación Gómez."
Why "Estación"?
The word "Estación" means "station" in Spanish. This suggests there might have been a train station there, or that the town grew up around one. Even though it's often called "Estación Gómez," its official name is just Gómez.
