Davionte Ganter, better known as GaTa, is an American rapper and actor. He is famous for playing a version of himself in the TV show Dave on FXX. GaTa is also known for being the hype man for the rapper Lil Dicky, both in real life and on the show.
GaTa's Early Life
GaTa grew up in South Los Angeles. He was adopted from foster care by his aunt, who he considers his mother. He never met his biological parents.
GaTa started rapping when he was a student at Audubon Middle School. He was inspired by the rapper Da Brat.

Music Journey
As a hype man, GaTa traveled the world. He performed with famous rappers like Lil Wayne and the group Gym Class Heroes.
GaTa, Tyga, and his childhood friend Schoolboy Q created a music label called G.E.D. GaTa says G.E.D. stands for "grinding every day, getting every dollar, getting educated daily."
Around 2013, GaTa began working with David Burd, also known as Lil Dicky. They became close friends. Later, they would star together on the TV show Dave.
After becoming popular as an actor, GaTa also focused on his own rap career. In July 2021, he released a new song called "Check Up."
Acting on Screen
GaTa started his acting career in the FXX TV series Dave. In the show, he plays a character who is like himself, but a bit more dramatic.
GaTa had never acted before, except in music videos. He also had no acting classes. He had to audition to play himself on the show.
