Gabe Gala's Soccer Journey
Early Days in Soccer
Gabe Gala moved from Nigeria to Brampton, Canada, when he was young. He started playing soccer for local clubs like Brampton East SC and North Mississauga SC. He also played for his high school teams at Saint Marguerite D’Youville and C. W. Jefferys.
Playing Pro Soccer
In 2007, Gabe joined Toronto FC as a young player. He made his first professional appearance on June 2, 2007, playing as a substitute against the Colorado Rapids. A big moment for him was scoring his first goal for Toronto FC in a friendly match against the famous Spanish team Real Madrid on August 7, 2009.
After playing 15 games for Toronto FC in the 2010 season, he left the club. During this time, he also studied at the University of Toronto and played for their soccer team, the Varsity Blues.
In 2011, Gabe signed with a new team called Mississauga Eagles FC in the Canadian Soccer League. He then took a break from soccer for two years. He returned in 2014 to play for North York Astros. He helped his team reach the playoffs that season. After North York left the league, he joined a new team, Scarborough SC.
In 2016, he played for League1 Ontario club North Mississauga SC.
Playing for Canada
Gabe Gala also played for Canada's national youth teams. He made his debut for the Canada Under-20 team on May 19, 2006, in a game against Brazil. He also started a game against the United States on July 9, 2006. Gabe was part of Canada's Under-20 team that played in the 2007 U20 World Cup.
