Early Career in Brazil
Machado began his professional career at Juventude, a club in Brazil. He signed a contract with them in December 2005. He made his first appearance in a big league game in 2007.
Moving to Europe
Playing in Switzerland
In January 2008, when he was 18 years old, Gabriel moved to Switzerland. He joined Grasshopper, a well-known Swiss team. He played there until June 2009.
Later, in January 2009, he moved to another Swiss club, Nyon. This team played in the Swiss Challenge League, which is a professional football league in Switzerland.
Time in Romania
In August 2009, Gabriel Machado joined Universitatea Cluj in Romania. This was a very successful period for him. In his first year, he scored 9 goals, becoming the team's top scorer. His goals helped the team get promoted to Liga I, which is Romania's top football league. In February 2011, he signed a new contract to stay with the Romanian team until 2014.

From 2015 to 2017, he played for FC Wettswil-Bonstetten, where he scored 14 goals in 42 matches. In 2018, he joined FC Glattbrugg and then moved to FC Regensdorf, where he plays today.
