Gabriella Csire (born April 21, 1938, in Ocna Mureș) is a well-known Romanian writer. She is especially famous for her amazing books for children. She has written many fairy tales, stories, and retellings of myths and legends.
About Her Life
Gabriella Csire was born into a family of Hungarian heritage. When she was two years old, her family moved to Cluj. She finished high school there in 1954. Later, she studied Hungarian Language and Literature at the former Bolyai University (now part of Babeș-Bolyai University). She graduated in 1959.
In 1959, Gabriella moved to Bucharest. She worked as an editor at a national publishing house called Irodalmi Könyvkiadó. After that, she worked for several newspapers and magazines. Many of these were for young people, like Tanügyi Újság, Előre, and Jóbarát. From 1990 to 1992, she was the editor-in-chief of Cimbora magazine.
Throughout her career, Gabriella Csire wrote many articles, short stories, and fairy tales. She is a member of the Writers' Union of Romania.
