He played for Union Saint-Gilloise for two seasons. Then, at 19 years old, he moved to Gent. Gent was a team in the top Belgian league, known as the Jupiler League.

Becoming a Key Player

At Gent, Gaby quickly became an important player. He regularly started matches for the team. During this time, he was also chosen to play for Belgium. He played for both the youth and senior national teams.

Moving to Italy

In January 2004, Gaby Mudingayi moved to Italy. He joined Torino, a team in Serie B, which is Italy's second-highest football league.

Success with Torino

Gaby helped Torino win promotion to Serie A in 2005. This meant they moved up to Italy's top league. However, after this success, the club faced financial problems and went bankrupt. This meant all their players, including Gaby, became free agents.

Time at Lazio

In August 2005, Gaby joined Lazio, another Italian club. He faced some injuries early on. On January 8, 2006, he scored his first and only goal for Lazio. It was in a 4–1 win against Ascoli.

Later that season, in April, Gaby broke his leg during a match against Juventus. This injury kept him out of action. He became a regular starter for Lazio in the 2006–07 season. He played in 28 matches that year.

Playing for Bologna

On July 21, 2008, Gaby Mudingayi was transferred to Bologna. Bologna had just been promoted to Serie A. He signed a five-year contract with them.

Gaby was a very important player for Bologna. He played in almost 30 matches each season he was there. He was a constant presence in the team's midfield.

Loan to Inter Milan

On July 20, 2012, Inter Milan announced they had signed Gaby Mudingayi. He joined them on a loan deal, which meant they borrowed him for a season. Inter Milan also had the option to buy him permanently later.

During the 2012–13 season, Gaby played in nine matches for Inter Milan. He faced another injury in January, hurting his Achilles tendon.

Joining Inter Permanently

In May 2013, Inter Milan decided to sign Gaby permanently. He signed a two-year contract with the club. However, he played very little during the next season, appearing for only eight minutes in total. He left the club the following year.

Later Career Clubs

Elche in Spain

On October 20, 2014, Gaby signed a one-year deal with La Liga side Elche CF in Spain. However, he could not be officially registered to play. This was due to the club's financial problems. He left Elche on February 3, 2015.
