Gail Bean was born Gail Mitchell. She grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She is the youngest of six children. She is also the only daughter in her family.

Gail first became interested in acting in high school. She took a drama class at Stephenson High School. After high school, she went to Valdosta State University. She earned her bachelor's degree there. She also joined the sorority Delta Sigma Theta.

Gail first planned to study accounting. But one of her professors encouraged her to try acting instead. She decided to follow her passion. She chose the stage name Gail Bean. "Bean" was a nickname she had in high school.

Her Acting Journey

Gail Bean got great reviews for her role in the 2015 film Unexpected. This movie was first shown at the Sundance Film Festival. In the film, she played a pregnant teenager. She acted alongside Cobie Smulders.
