Gail Susan Mancuso (born July 14, 1958) is a talented American director for movies and TV shows. She is famous for directing popular series like Roseanne, 30 Rock, and Modern Family.

Gail Mancuso's Journey in TV and Film

Gail Mancuso grew up in Melrose Park, Illinois. She is married to Brian Downs, who is a doctor. They live in both Valencia, California and River Forest, Illinois.

Gail started her career by working behind the scenes on TV talk shows. She then became a script supervisor for a comedy show called Brothers. A script supervisor makes sure everything in a show stays consistent. They check details like costumes, props, and how actors move.

In 1989, Gail became an associate director for the hit show Roseanne. An associate director helps the main director with many tasks. In 1991, she got the chance to become one of the main directors for Roseanne. She directed episodes until the show's eighth season.

Directing Popular TV Shows

After Roseanne, Gail went on to direct episodes for many other well-known TV series. These included Friends, Dharma and Greg, and Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place.

In 2007, Mancuso began working on the CBS sitcom Rules of Engagement. She also directed episodes of 30 Rock and Scrubs. In 2008, she won a Gracie Award for her excellent work on 30 Rock.
