Gaius Charles (born May 2, 1983) is an American actor. He is well-known for playing Brian "Smash" Williams in the TV show Friday Night Lights. He also appeared as Dr. Shane Ross in the medical drama Grey's Anatomy. Another important role was Bunchy Carter, a Black Panther leader, in the series Aquarius. Gaius Charles has also acted in many films.
Early Life and Education
Gaius Charles was born in Manhattan, New York on May 2, 1983. He grew up in New York City and Teaneck, New Jersey.
He finished high school at Teaneck High School in 2001. After that, he went to Carnegie Mellon University's College of Fine Arts. There, he earned a degree in drama. He also studied acting in Sydney, Australia, at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). Later, he earned a Master of Arts degree from Drew University.
