Gale Page (born Sally Perkins Rutter on July 29, 1910) was a talented American singer and actress. She became famous for her roles in movies during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Gale Page passed away on January 8, 1983.

Early Life of Gale Page
Gale Page was born in Spokane, Washington. Her parents were R.L. and Isabel Rutter. She had interesting family connections. Her uncle, Miles Poindexter, was a U.S. Senator. He also served as a U.S. Ambassador to Peru. Gale was also the great-granddaughter of Joseph Gale. He was the very first governor of Oregon.
Gale Page's Acting Career
Starting in Radio
Before becoming a movie star, Gale Page was a radio actress and singer. She started singing on a local radio station in Spokane. Later, she moved to KYW radio in Chicago, Illinois.
She then joined the NBC radio network. On NBC, she sang on the popular show Fibber McGee and Molly. In 1935, she played Gertrude Lamont in the soap opera Masquerade. From 1936, she was Gloria Marsh on the soap opera Today's Children. In 1939, she also co-starred with Jim Ameche on Hollywood Playhouse.
Becoming a Film Star
In 1938, Warner Brothers signed Gale Page to a Hollywood film contract. She made her first movie, Crime School, in 1938. In this film, she acted alongside the famous actor Humphrey Bogart. She also appeared in The Amazing Dr. Clitterhouse that same year.
Her big break came when she got a role in Four Daughters (1938). She played the fourth daughter in this popular movie. The other "daughters" were played by the real-life Lane Sisters. Gale Page was the only one not part of the Lane family. She acted with the Lane sisters in three more films. These included Daughters Courageous (1939) and two sequels to Four Daughters: Four Wives (1939) and Four Mothers (1941).
Gale Page appeared in 16 films during her career. Some of her other notable movies include Heart of the North (1938) and You Can't Get Away with Murder (1939). She also starred in Naughty but Nice (1939) and They Drive by Night (1940). Other films were Knute Rockne, All American (1940), The Time of Your Life (1948), and Anna Lucasta (1949).
Television Appearances
Later in her career, Gale Page also worked in television. She was a regular performer on the TV series Robert Montgomery Presents. She appeared on this show from 1954 until 1957.
Personal Life
Gale Page was married twice. Her first husband was Frederick M. Tritschler. They had one son together. They later divorced in 1939.
In 1942, she married Count Aldo Solìto de Solis. He was a talented pianist and composer. In 1943, they had twin children, Marina Francesca and Lucchino Giovanni. After this marriage, Gale Page became known as Countess Solìto de Solis.
Later Years and Death
Gale Page passed away in Santa Monica, California, when she was 72 years old. She died from lung cancer in 1983.
