Gamma, Missouri facts for kids
Gamma is a small, quiet place located in the northeastern part of Montgomery County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is known as an unincorporated community, which means it's a settlement that doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
About Gamma
Gamma is found right where two roads meet: Missouri Route E and Missouri Route CC. It sits on the south side of a waterway called Elkhorn Creek. If you travel about 5.5 miles northwest from Gamma, you would reach the town of Middletown.
Gamma's History
Even though Gamma is a small community today, it once had its own post office. This post office opened its doors in 1880. It served the community for many years before it finally closed down in 1920. The reason why this community was named "Gamma" is still a mystery!
