Garin College is a Catholic school in Nelson, New Zealand. It is a co-educational school, meaning both boys and girls attend. The college opened on January 28, 2002. It was created to serve the Catholic community, especially in the upper South Island of New Zealand.
The school is named after Father Antoine Marie Garin. He was an important Catholic leader in Nelson from 1810 to 1889. The Catholic Archbishop of Wellington oversees the school.

School Houses at Garin College
Garin College has four special groups called houses. Each house has its own name and color. All the house names come from important Catholic figures. If you have brothers or sisters at the college, you will often be in the same house.

Boarding at Garin College
The college offers a place to live for students who come from far away. Up to 56 students can stay in the school's boarding hostels. These hostels are separated by gender. Boys live in Francis Douglas House. Girls live in Mother Teresa House.
The Garin College Haka
A haka is a traditional Māori dance or challenge. Garin College created its own haka in 2006. This was four years after the school first opened. The haka was first shown at the Te Wairua o nga Mahi Toi festival. It was the opening performance of the final night in 2006.
