Garrard McClendon (born February 10, 1966) is an American professor, writer, and filmmaker. He is also a well-known TV host. He hosts the PBS show CounterPoint with Garrard McClendon. He also hosted The McClendon Report and Garrard McClendon Live on CLTV. He won an Emmy Award for his show Off 63rd with Garrard McClendon on WYCC.

Garrard McClendon's Education and Teaching Career

Garrard McClendon has a Ph.D. from Loyola University Chicago. His studies focused on Cultural and Educational Policy. He also earned degrees from Wabash College and Valparaiso University. Today, he is a professor at Chicago State University. He teaches Educational Leadership and Policy Studies there.

McClendon started this project in 2013. He asked students in his Philosophy of Education classes for help. They searched many archives to find all of Donda West's works. This included her scholarly papers, her dissertation, and her master's thesis. They also found her personal notes, poems, and many hours of her audio speeches. McClendon said, "The students did a wonderful job helping me find all of this archival material." For six years, they collected, edited, and even had calls with Kanye West.

Forgiving Cain: A Personal Story

In 2009, Garrard McClendon experienced a very sad event involving his parents. To honor them, he made a documentary film called Forgiving Cain. This film tells a personal story.
