Gary Carr, born on December 11, 1986, is a talented English actor. He is also a dancer, singer, and musician. You might know him from his roles on TV shows and in plays. He played main characters in the BBC series Death in Paradise (from 2011 to 2014) and the American show The Deuce (from 2017 to 2018). Getting an Education
Gary Carr started his training at the National Youth Music Theatre of Great Britain. He then studied at the Arts Educational Schools from 2003 to 2005. After that, he attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) from 2005 to 2008. He received a special scholarship from the Leverhulme Trust to help with his studies.
His Acting Career
After finishing his studies at LAMDA in July 2008, Gary Carr began his acting career. He appeared in TV shows for the BBC and ITV. He also performed in a play called Dido, Queen of Carthage at the Royal National Theatre. This play was written by Christopher Marlowe.
Carr starred in the first three seasons of the BBC mystery show Death in Paradise. He played a police officer named Fidel Best from 2011 to 2014. He is also well-known for his role as Jack Ross, a jazz singer, in the ITV historical drama Downton Abbey. He appeared in the fourth season of Downton Abbey in 2013.
His work in theatre includes plays like Yerma and Macbeth. In 2009, he played the main character in the play Nation at the Royal National Theatre. This play was based on a book by Terry Pratchett. More recently, he appeared in the Amazon Prime Video series The Peripheral.
