Gateway is a community in Lee County, Florida, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a place that looks like a town but isn't officially a city with its own local government.
In 2020, about 10,376 people lived in Gateway. This number grew quite a bit from 2010, when there were 8,401 residents. Gateway is also part of the larger Cape Coral-Fort Myers, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. This is a big area that includes several cities and towns. The community is located just north of the Southwest Florida International Airport.

Gateway is located in the sunny state of Florida. It is part of Lee County. The community covers a total area of about 6.14 square miles (15.9 square kilometers).
Most of this area is land, about 5.65 square miles (14.6 square kilometers). The rest, about 0.49 square miles (1.3 square kilometers), is water. This includes small lakes or ponds within the community.
