Genalguacil is a charming town and a small administrative area, known as a municipality, in southern Spain. It is part of the Province of Málaga, which is located in the sunny region of Andalusia. This special place is nestled in the beautiful Genal valley.
Genalguacil is about 45 kilometers from the historic town of Ronda. It is also around 34 kilometers from the coastal city of Estepona. The town is situated in the western part of the province. It is one of the many towns that make up the area called the Serrania de Ronda.
The town has a population of about 393 people (as of 2018). The people who live here are called Genalguacileños. The name Genalguacil comes from an old Arabic name, Genna - Ahuacir. This name meant "Gardens of the Vizier," suggesting it was once a place of beautiful gardens.
