Gennadi Aronovich Vengerov (born August 27, 1959 – died April 22, 2015) was a talented actor. He worked in film and theatre in the Soviet Union, Russia, and Germany. He was also a narrator and a voice-over artist. This means he used his voice for movies, TV shows, and commercials.

About Gennadi Vengerov

Gennadi Vengerov was born in Vitebsk, which is now in Belarus. After finishing school, he first worked as a construction engineer. But soon, he found his passion for performing. He started as an announcer on the radio in Vitebsk. He also acted in a local theatre.

Early Career and Training

In 1980, Gennadi became a professional actor. He joined the Yakub Kolas Belarus National Academic Drama Theatre. After serving in the Soviet Army, he went to a special acting school in Moscow. This school was part of the famous Moscow Art Theatre.

In 1986, while still a student, he helped create a new theatre group. It was called Sovremennik 2. Later, in 1989, he joined the Moscow Academic Mayakovsky Theatre.

Moving to Germany

Gennadi Vengerov moved to Germany in 1990. There, he continued his career in new ways. He worked as an announcer for Deutsche Welle Radio. He also became an actor at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. From 1995 to 2000, he acted at the Bochum Theatre.

Later Work and Famous Roles

From 2004 onwards, Gennadi acted a lot in Russian movies and TV shows. He also performed in plays in Moscow. His voice was very popular for documentaries, films, and advertisements. He was even the official voice for a Russian news station and the international Euronews channel in Russia. In 2009, he hosted a TV show called "Men’s Stories with Gennadi Vengerov."

Gennadi Vengerov acted in over 140 movies. These films were made in Russia, the United States, England, Austria, and Germany. He worked with many well-known actors. Some of his famous roles in Russia include the blacksmith Vulkan in "The Fighter" series. He also played Major Volkov in the "Hour of Volkov" series. German audiences knew him as the businessman Viktor Strelnikov in "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten."

Gennadi Vengerov passed away on April 22, 2015, in Dusseldorf, Germany.
