Her Journey to Stardom
Genta Ismajli was born in Gjilan, a city in Kosovo. Just a few months after she was born, her family moved far away to Chicago, Illinois in the United States. This is where Genta grew up and spent her childhood.
When Genta was 19 years old, she decided to move back to Kosovo. This was a big step for her! Soon after, she released her first song called "Dridhem." This song became a huge hit and really kicked off her music career. Because of its success, Genta decided to stay in Kosovo permanently to focus on her music.
Music Competitions and Big Wins
Genta has taken part in many music competitions in both Albania and Kosovo. In 2005, she won a very famous competition called Kënga Magjike. Her winning song was "S'dua tjetër," which was composed by Adrian Hila. She scored 292 points, showing how much the judges loved her performance!
After this big win, Genta continued to make music and perform for three more years. She became very successful and popular. Even with all her success, she made sure to visit her parents in the United States. She then returned to Albania with exciting new music ideas.
Her Unique Music Style
Genta Ismajli is famous for her lively pop songs. Her music often has catchy pop and hip hop beats that make you want to dance! She's also known for her energetic dance moves during her performances.
She even showed off her dancing skills on TV! Genta participated in the first season of Dancing with the Stars (Albania). She did incredibly well, finishing in second place overall.
Genta has also started singing in English. She recorded many English songs for her 2008 album, which was her first album entirely in English. Many of these songs were written by a famous American songwriter named Kara DioGuardi. Genta has said in interviews that she dreams of becoming a globally famous singer. She works with well-known composers and songwriters in America to make this dream come true.
In 2011, she released an album called Guximi. This album was special because it had songs in both English and Albanian.
