Geordi La Forge was born on February 16, 2335. He was born blind, so he uses a special device called a VISOR to help him see. This VISOR lets him see things like energy and heat, not just light. His parents were Silva La Forge and Edward M. La Forge, and he also had a sister.

Geordi went to Zefram Cochrane High School. After that, he attended Starfleet Academy from 2353 to 2357. Starfleet Academy is where people train to become officers in Starfleet, which is like a space exploration and defense force. After graduating, he became an ensign on the USS Victory. An ensign is a junior officer rank.
